Some personal news: I got a job!
Hello everyone! I just wanted to drop you a quick note to explain why I’ve been MIA and what I’ll be up to for the foreseeable future.
It is, as you might imagine, not the easiest time to be getting a job in journalism, which is why I’m so thrilled and grateful to say I start this coming Thursday at the Columbus Dispatch covering high school sports.
I could not be happier to be joining the Dispatch and to be moving back to the Midwest. My parents have been so generous in allowing me to live at home with them in Atlanta since March, but I’m excited to get back out on my own and figure out this whole adulthood thing.
This newsletter started as a side project in the summer when my internship at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution was postponed, and I’m so grateful to everyone who has read, subscribed or supported me in any way over the last eight months.
Fresh Ice isn’t going away, but I’ll have less time on my hands, so I felt it was important to let all of you know what I’m up to. I make no promises about when you’ll see me in your inboxes again, but I hope it’s soon — I’ve got 32 clips worth of Dylan Holloway and Cole Caufield’s second-half performances that I want to talk about.
